Hello world!

Leo | February 22, 2008

A yummy cabbage rice dishWelcome to Food In The Fort, a food blog from two serious foodies living in the bustling metropolis of Fort Wayne, Indiana. We’re still building the site but in future days you’ll be able to find recipes, restaurant reviews, and general commentary on all things food and Fort Wayne right here.

About the author:  Leo is a technologist and writer living in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He is a transplant to the Mid West from Central New York and was promised cheaper gas and better winters. He feels somewhat lied to in this respect but otherwise finds the people pleasant. Read more from this author

Wow! Finally a food blog for all the gourmands in Fort Wayne IN. I’ll be checking back regularly for restaurant reviews and lots of yummy recipes which are neither particularly healthy nor guaranteed to be leftover free. And while I’m at it, lemme just give a quick shout-out to my favorite barista in all of the Fort: Steve Ball of the Java Bean on Broadway. I’m still sipping my cappuccino and thinking of you, Steve!

Are we really gourmands? That sounds so stuffy, and considering some of our recent failures (although the dog didn’t seem to mind) I’m not sure the gourmands would want us as members anyway. Nah, I think we’re just foodies plain and simple.

Oh, and I agree, Steve rocks.

Okay, *I* am not "nondescript," so speak for yourself!  And why can’t I be a gourmand if I want to?  I’m a Classicist, so I’m already stuffy by definition.
